Oh, wow, wow, WOW, you're really going to cut your hair? I have no advice--I'm sure you will look beautiful in any new do. I would go with something low-maintenance and easy to do, but I really have no idea which ones would fit that requirement. I can't wait to see what you choose!
Yeah, I did an A-line twice. One was shorter than the other, but both weren't what most people consider "short". It could all be pulled back in a ponytail. I'll try to find a pic to scan & post. What's the shortest you guys have chopped?
That's so funny, that first picture of Katie Holmes is the exact picture I took to my hairstylist last summer when I cut all my hair off. So of course I like that one best! I'm really excited that you're cutting your hair- it's the funnest thing! I'm growing mine out now I think... I can't decide. Both ways are so fun! I can't wait for pictures! Whatever you do, it'll be super cute!
I think that with your face shape, you have a nice jaw-line, so an a-line one would be very flattering. Like the jenny mcarthy or rihanna one. although I think the face framing layers of Katie Holme's would be flattering as well. I say go way short cuz it's fun, easy and different! and it always grows back.
Funny! I am going through the same thing as you! I have been looking for a cute hair cut that would look good on me as well. It is hard because that last time I had my hair "short" was when I was in fourth grade. It is so hard to tell what it will REALLY look like on you! I would love to have someone do my hair everyday like the stars do! I can't wait to see how you get your hair cut! It is a hard decision to make! Good luck!
Hey Nicia! So, I hope you get updated when someone lame (ie: me) makes a comment a million years after your original post. Here are my two cents (with professional guidance from my Aunt with about 40 years experience):
Take a copy of exactly what you posted on your blog to your hairdresser. The many different cuts will give her/him ideas of where your eye is attracted, and she/he will be able to discuss how different cuts will look ON YOU! This is the key: discuss and play with moving your hair BEFORE making any cuts (ask to be scheduled for a consultation - usually free). Once you are comfortable with the fact that the hairdresser understands what you want, and that you both agree on how they will proceed, then get washed and cut (depending on where you go, this may be on a different day).
When making a drastic length change, remember that hair will always grow, but it is OK to play it a little safe and start with a shoulder grazing cut (Jennie McCarthy), and then go for a more daring shorter (Katie Holmes) look after a month or so if you are having regrets about not taking the plunge. Most short cuts are maintained every 4-5 weeks, so plan the multiple trips to the salon into your budget. Even if you don't like the results and don't plan to keep it short, you will still need to go to the salon more frequently than you do now in order for you to have it shaped as it grows out.
Expect to get what you pay for. That goes for salon quality products vs. grocery store products as well. Discuss what products and prep time will be needed for the different cuts you are thinking about during your consultation. This upkeep info may assist you in making a final decision.
Above all, I hope you have fun! Oh, and whatever you choose, I hope you do it soon. I can't wait to see it for our reunion!!! And in the future, all you have to do is buy a plane ticket to come and visit me, and my Aunt throws in the consultation, cut, and color for free! She's done my hair for years, and supplied my family with salon products since I was a baby. Now all I have to do is take some lessons on how to make my hair look the way it does the day she does her magic!
I believe life is to be lived and loved everyday! I try to keep a smile on my face and a prayer in my heart. Each day there are opportunities to love someone, learn something, and take a step outside my comfort zone. I'm incredibly blessed with an amazing family and wonderful friends who I'm humbled to know and love. My motivation is the love of my Savior and belief in the goodness of our God! I give my heart and will to Him everyday and am doing my best to go forward with faith and optimism.

New hair is awesome! Have you EVER gone short? I agree with Allie, Katie Holmes' hair is my favorite, Jenny McCarthy is a close second.
I agree Katie Holmes and then jenny mccarthy. Good luck. I can not wait to see a picture!
I really like Katie's on the cover of the magazine! I also like the one below it and the one above it. Yay!
I've always regretted not cutting my hair short enough to get it out of my system. I don't think I've ever gone shorter than just above my shoulders.
